The goal of this project was to hijack the viewers nervous system and instill a sense of dread and anxiety. I wanted to relate the impending sense of doom our modern life has taken on as background noise to the conscious awareness. Art is about evoking emotion, and film and video has a unique ability to enhance an artists ability to do this. As one who has enjoyed horror movies, I often find many artists rely on startling or shocking the audience, rather than instilling true fear and dread. This video works towards the end of drawing that fear out.

Fear is an emotion most people simply push down and refuse to deal with in a meaningful way. Emotional wellness and intelligence comes from interacting with our emotions and better understanding them. Safe places like art are an ideal place to feel and interact with emotions like fear.
